Our department is responsible for the development of the battery cell. We are looking for dedicated battery cell specialists to further expand our activities in the development of lithium-ion cells. Together with an international development team, you will work on the development and industrialization of long-lasting, safe and sustainable battery cells. Based in Stuttgart, Germany, you will be the cell chemistry design expert who is responsible for the coordination and on-site support of cell development activities at cell suppliers to ensure that our requirements regarding technical characteristics and maturity level are met. This includes working closely together with internal active material experts around the globe.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• As a development engineer you will take responsibility for the chemistry design of our battery cells in series projects
• You will actively coordinate and support cell development activities on-site at cell suppliers to ensure that requirements regarding technical characteristics and maturity levels are met
• You will work closely to internal material experts around the globe to design a suitable cell chemistry concept, coordinate a design of experiments for the development of the concept and derive bills of material for our series cells
• You will drive cross functional collaboration with manufacturing and test teams to mature products from concept to production
• You will identify and evaluate means for (cost) optimization
• You will document the development progress of the chemistry concept and report it to relevant committees and the management

THAT'S WHY YOU ARE A MATCH

Studies: Dipl .-Ing., Masters in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field. PhD preferred.

Experience and specific knowledge:

• Several years of professional experience in the series development of battery cells, ideally at a cell manufacturer
• In-depth knowledge of lithium ion cells for automotive application
• In-depth knowledge in creating a design of experiments for cell development
• Fundamental knowledge in project management
• Fundamental cell material knowhow and knowledge in validation of lithium ion cells
• Very good communication skills and structured work methods in order to manage a wide range of interface partners/ suppliers
• Ability to work in a team and cooperate in an international working environment
• Willingness to do international business trips on a regular basis
• Very good English skills spoken and written
